Individualized Care Management (ICM) was established on the primary principles of patient advocacy, appropriate care in an appropriate setting, quality care delivered at the local level and securing the most cost-effective pricing for the care delivered. ICM has enhanced traditional medical management products by placing an ICM nurse at the clients' place of business, by the nurse visiting the patients in hospitals, participating in and developing comprehensive discharge plans and arranging for home services. The employees have direct access to their ICM care manager, and are encouraged to discuss their medical needs and concerns with her at their workplace or by telephone.

Traditional management of care has always been built by intervening only when certain diagnoses were identified or after certain dollar levels were expended by the payor. This practice allows providers and vendors of healthcare the ability to inflate those services not managed called "cost shifting". Unlike most medical management companies, ICM manages all aspects of health care services including those not traditionally managed, such as home health care, durable medical equipment rental/purchase, and home infusion services. By utilizing the micro-management approach, ICM has proven that achieving the best outcomes for employees is accomplished only by considering the entire health care product utilized and managing it thoroughly.

The development and refinement of ICM's products have always responded to client demand. By listening to the request of our clients, ICM has developed products, which benefit employers at a grass roots level.
