Outpatient Service Management:
A large percentage of the health
care dollar is spent on outpatient services.
ICM encourages health plan language to include
the need for precertification/notification of
outpatient procedures. This allows ICM’s staff
to evaluate the need for early intervention and
education to reduce and/or avoid unnecessary ervices/supplies and to direct the patient to
the preferred provider.
ICM provides a list of
recommended procedures to be included. This
list can be customized to the culture and
specific needs of the client. Such services as
laparoscopic surgeries, physical therapy visits
(over a maximum allowance), cardiac
catheterizations, radiation treatment, biopsies
and chemotherapy are just a few of the
outpatient areas we recommend early notification
and intervention.
